Art Online

“Art online” can refer to many different things. For general internet browsers, the term is often used to find artworks that satisfy interior design needs. Prints of famous oil paintings as well as original work from lesser known artists are common purchases.

For other people, the concept of art online is more about creating art through online mediums. While web design is more commonly used for commercial pursuits, some art sites are focused more on being an interactive experience. Net.art and net-art are other terms for this sort of Internet creation.

The ability to create and share art online has created community opportunities that were previously never possible. For instance, an artist in Canada can easily collaborate and interact with another artist in Japan. Also, while an individual’s aesthetics may not fit in with their immediate culture, they can now build a supportive audience of people all over the world.
