Art Prints
Art prints exist at varying levels of uniqueness. Some
may simply be cheaper reproductions of famous fine art paintings. Others
may exist as the primary works themselves.
Through techniques such as screen-print, woodcut, and lithography,
art prints can be created in limited editions. Generally, the creator
will sign and number each print. This signature and number can significantly
affect the value of a piece.
Art prints may also come from a digital work. If a digital artist creates
an image through such programs as Corel Painter or Adobe Photoshop,
they may sell digital prints of their work. Prints of these may cost
more than printed reproductions of famous art pieces. This is because
there is no original hard copy. Also, if the creator holds onto the
original file exclusively, then he or she has total control over how
many copies are made.
